The Automation Controller

The Automation Controller is the heart of a "smart home". Our systems give you limitless flexibility and control of your home's

  • Security
  • Lighting
  • HVAC
  • Audio/video

In addition to conventional security functions (detection of intrusion and smoke/fire), the HMS (Home Management System) can integrate control of your home's lighting circuits, HVAC equipment and other components to fit your needs and lifestyle. Here are some typical examples:

Full Security

A PIR (passive infrared) sensor can be set to provide intrusion alert when the system is in one mode, or simply turn on a light at night when in another. Fire, water and rain can also be detected and monitored. System arming can be confirmed by programming an outside light to flash several times as the homeowner drives away. Audio alerts can speak "garage door open", "front or side gate open", etc.

Indoor/Outdoor Lighting

Sample Light switch options

The built-in clock and calendar facilitates a program to turn lights on at sunset (the time of which varies considerably over the year) and turn off at 11 p.m. Increase convenience with automated "scene" switches for specified areas.

HVAC

HAI Thermostat

Thermostats can be programmed to provide time-of-day temperature changes, as well as changes based on the HMS being armed or disarmed. Opt to control all thermostats from a central location or automatically, based on home occupancy.

Audio/Video

Any sensor or switch connected to the HMS can trigger multiple actions. A light switch in the family room could be programmed to initiate a home theater mode which arms perimeter security sensors, closes the room drapes while simultaneously dimming the lights and momentarily activating one of its outputs. This would command attached equipment to send IR (infrared) or serial signals to turn on the TV and other components. Coming home & disarming the security system can turn on music in a room or rooms from selected source and at specified volume.

User control and system programming is via an HMS keypad or touchscreen, any touchtone telephone (home or away), and/or via your personal computer directly or remotely over the Internet.
